The next outing for the CluainUltaigh Show dogs was an Autumn 2011 tour to the U.K., taking in the The English Shetland Sheepdog Breed Championship Show, the Midland Counties Canine Society Championship Dog Show and finally the the Mid Western Shetland Sheepdog Club Championship Show and lastly finishing off the tour with the Bull Breeds All Breed Championship Show at Cloghran in Dublin. This was a fantastic week of holidaying and showing.
First off was the E.S.S.C. show using the Kennel Club Buildings at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. This is a tremendous venue, warm, spacious and set in lovely grounds.
We had a great day and met old friends and made new friends. All the classes had high standards and large entries and though all our exhibits seemed to show the effects of 36 hours travelling we had the pleasure seeing Fearnach Blue Rhapsody at CluainUltaigh "Shadow"picking up a V.H.C. in the Junior Dog Class.
After a lazy five days at the Red Lion Camp Site in Stafford, a place I would recommmend for people with dogs, the CluainUltaigh show dogs arrived at the County Show Grounds to attend the Midland Counties Championship Show in Stafford. This is another excellent venue and we had a great day with all the exhibits showing to the best of their ability, Benji was unplaced in a very strong class and was asked to walk again before the placings took place, Shadow achieved a second in another strong class, and Sky was unplaced in puppy bitch.
We had the pleasure of having the company of Sandy Mc Donagh Karyshanty who also travelled from Ireland at this show and it was with great delight to us that she and 'Bailey' achieved the 'CC' in the dog class. C
The following day we attended the Mid Western Shetland Sheepdog Club Championship Show, again in another lovely venue at St Helens. This time Benji acheved a forth in Post Grad, Shadow achieved a 3rd place, having stepped up to Yearling and the two girls, Lacey and Sky continued the improvement though they did not achive a placing.
